Canton of Lucerne

Situated in North-Central Switzerland, Lucerne is one of the 26 cantons in Switzerland. The capital of the canton is Lucerne and the official language of the canton is German. The canton is divided into 5 districts, and covers an area of 1500 Lucerne is actually considered a gateway to Central Switzerland. The city of Lucerne and the canton, of course, get their name from Lake Lucerne that is located in the canton. Schwyz – the Progenitor of Switzerland

Leytron, a municipality in the district of Martigny, lies in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. The municipality was first mentioned as Leitrun, in the year 1219. This delightful village that is set in the plain owes its “Grand Cru” label to Humagne Blanche. Know all about the Swiss town Schaffhausen

Schaffhausen, a wine-growing region near the German border, is a Swiss town on the upper Rhine River. Decorative buildings with bay windows and baroque facades mark this beautiful medieval old town, which is dominated by the 16th-century Munot Fortress. Know all about the beautiful municipality of Nidau, Switzerland

Nidau, a municipality in the Biel administrative district, lies in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The city can be located in the city limits of Biel and both the cities have grown entwined. Since the time of the Jura water connections, a good portion of the Nidau city, as well as the medieval center, are now located on an island, which is created by the Nidau Canal, the Lake Biel’s shore and the river Thielle in French. With a total area of 1.52-kilometer square, 0.06-kilometer square of Nidau is forested. None of the lands was used for agricultural purposes, as of 2012.
